Born in San Francisco, Dr. Lum spent most of his life growing up in the Bay Area. After receiving a B.S. degree in Biochemistry/Cell Biology and a minor in Economics from the University of California San Diego, he worked in the biotech industry before pursuing a career in the field of dentistry. He attended dental school at the University of California Los Angeles before completing a three year specialty training in Advanced Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry at UCLA. Dr. Lum received his certificate and became board eligible in 2008. Later, he completed a one year fellowship in the sub-specialty of Maxillofacial Prosthetics at the UCLA Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Lum maintains a career in private practice while working part-time as a clinical instructor at UCLA. Dr. Lum is an active member of various professional organizations including the American College of Prosthodontics, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the San Diego Dental Society. Dr. Lum has lectured at meetings and has published articles in the California Dental Association Journal.
